I cant even describe how much I love this song and this video.

I was just looking to see if there was a music video for Daylight because I LOVE this song but I came across this and it was perfect.

We are all simply people in the this world trying to make the best of our lives. But for some reason that I can’t seem to grasp, we start wars over religion, race, and resources that come out of the damn ground. We judge and make stereotypes. We make wonderful people feel bad about themselves and ashamed to be who they are. No human being deserves to feel that way and I think everyone needs to learn to be more accepting.

No more judging people by what they wear, who they love, what religion or race they are or whatever other characteristic that just makes someone who they are. Let them be who they want.

Before you exclude or make a joke about someone, think about what you’re doing. Can you really accept and live with yourself knowing you’re just putting someone down and making them uncomfortable in their own skin just for a quick laugh from your buddies?

We are all one in the same, lets start acting like it.

To start off, I completely understand that where you go does matter to some extent. It gives you connections for later on in life and being in an environment you love is really important.

Nowadays, I feel there is just so much stress and pressure on students to shoot for ivy leagues. Personally, I want to go somewhere I fall in love with. I have no idea where that is yet because I want to see the campus and student life to decide. What you do with your education and schooling is what really makes you successful. I personally have a higher standard of schools for myself because I need challenge in my life and those schools give me the opportunities to do what I want.

If you can get in to Harvard and feel its the best school for you, I admire you. You must be a great student from your hard work and passion for learning.

If you really want to go to a small college in your area that society doesn’t really finds significant it’s okay! If you will be happy where you are and feel it will lead you to where you want to be in life, GO FOR IT!

Picking your school should be about being in an environment you love and giving you the opportunities to do what you want to do in life.

It should NOT be about a college ranking list.

“No Rights No Women”

At my school the other day, Diversity Club made a presentation with this video. I thought it was amazing. I grew up with a single mother who is a veterinarian and built her own business while raising two kids by herself. I admire her so much for her independence and she has made me see that independence is an extremely important quality in a woman and all people. Living in America, discrimination based on sex is not as severe as in other countries but is still mentioned in media and has not been completely ignored.

These women are so brave for taking a stand against their government to stand up for their rights.

Seen by 13 year old girls, face full of braces.

They see tiny hips and tiny waists,

As they run toward the scales with haste.

Their values change in hopes to be

The girls in the magazines.

Her favorite snacks begin to fade,

Until they all get thrown away.

The parents notice a little too late.

Who knew this would be her fate?

As she lays in her hospital bed,

Everyone fears that she will end up dead.

This is a picture of people speaking out against the outrageously edited ads from Ralph Lauren. The National Organization for Women took a stand and knew they couldn’t let such an extreme misuse of Photoshop go unnoticed. These people are truly inspirational, I wish I could have been up there with them.

Ralph Lauren campaign ad that shows an obvious misuse of Photoshop. I’m shocked that such a big company even thought about printing this ad. The model looks fake and shows a totally wrong image of the ideal woman. This isn’t a healthy image and there was a protest organized because of these kind of ads that Ralph Lauren were printing. I’m so happy that someone brought people together to take a stand against such misuse of common software that does a lot more damage than they realize.

Hi! This is my first blog post on a topic I really care about, photo shop. I just want to make it clear that I don’t mind simple editing of color or background changes to make a picture look cooler. What I really care about is how companies take their advertisements and change the body of the model to make them look “perfect”.

Women turn to social media for advice on almost everything these days! Diets, workouts, how you raise your kids, clothes, hair, medicine, EVERYTHING! So, if you’re flipping through your favorite magazine and all you see is super skinny models with “perfect” bodies then of course you will believe that you should look like the women in the ads. Unfortunately, we are in a time when most of us don’t want to work hard for slow but healthy results. That’s why you find that a lot of teens and women these days don’t just workout and eat right to loose any extra body fat, they want to do it the fast way. Many people find the fast way to be starving yourself. This causes so many health problems if continued. Anorexia and bulimia are beginning to be common diseases for young women. This needs to stop. Women need to learn to love their bodies and their little “imperfections”. So to get to the root of the problem we should start by ending extreme misuse of Photoshop.
